The book was originally released under the title Stephen W. Hawking’s Life Works: The Cambridge Lectures. From Aristotle’s conclusion that the earth is round to Hubble’s discovery that the universe in expanding, the book begins with a history of the various ideas about the universe that have been put forth over the centuries. He then delves into the depths of modern physics, exploring various theories about the origin of the universe, including string theory and the space-time continuum. He also discusses the nature of black holes, the research of which kept him occupied for over a decade. The book’s title refers to a theory of physics that defines the unification of the four fundamental forces of nature, namely gravity, the electromagnetic force, the strong force, and the weak force. The Theory Of Everything (With CD) was published in 2002 by Jaico Publishers. However, it has neither been authorized nor endorsed by Hawking. This particular edition is a 2008 reprint.
